Our Story
Beyond The Bell Mentorship and Boxing Club was founded on a simple belief: boxing can change lives.
For founder Michael Kelley, that belief is personal. Mike often says that boxing saved his life. As a troubled youth, he spent much of his childhood living with family and friends and searching for stability, direction, and belonging. He wishes he had discovered boxing earlier because of the discipline, confidence, and purpose it has brought to his life.
Boxing is Mike’s love; mentorship is his passion.
Beyond The Bell was created to combine both by providing at-risk youth throughout King County with a safe, supportive alternative to the streets. Through boxing, mentorship, life skills, and academic support, we aim to help young people build confidence, character, and a brighter future.
We are starting small, but our vision is big. As we grow and secure a dedicated facility, we hope to partner with the Kent School District, King County Juvenile Probation, and other local organizations to connect more youth with the resources and support they need to succeed.
Our goal is simple: to give young people hope, purpose, and the opportunity to become champions in life.
